Intro. and question regarding Osage Orange

Bill,

I don't live where beech grows and I'm not interested in learning yet one more trade. Lumbering is hard dangerous work--too much for a 60 year-old one-armed carpenter turned plane maker. I'm not sure my working life is long enough to return the tens and tens of thousands of dollars I already have invested in this and I'm pretty cautious about investing more.
